Improper Storage of Emergency Food and Water Supplies
E
F0812 F812: Procure food from sources approved or considered satisfactory and store, prepare, distribute and serve food in accordance with professional standards.
Short Summary

Improper Storage of Emergency Food and Water Supplies: Surveyors found MREs used for emergency meals stored in an outside building that was not climate controlled, despite label directions to keep them in a dry, cool, dark location at about 55 degrees Fahrenheit. They also observed 5-gallon water jugs used for water dispensers and cooking during a boil water advisory stored outside under a covered porch with no temperature control. The DM said she was unaware of the MRE storage guidance, and the Administrator stated all foods and water were expected to be safely stored.
