This improper handling led to the resident falling from the sling and sustaining a fractured clavicle. The incident was investigated and reported by the Director of Nursing, who confirmed that the CNA did not follow the facility's policy and procedure for mechanical lift usage. The CNA was found to have been previously trained and had acknowledged the policies in place to prevent such accidents. Despite this, the CNA proceeded with the transfer without assistance and with the incorrect equipment, directly leading to the resident's injury.
