Summary

The facility failed to ensure that registered nurse (RN) hours were identified on the daily staff posting, as required by facility policy. Review of the policy indicated that the daily posting should include a breakdown of RN, LVN/LPN, and CNA hours. However, facility nursing schedules and daily posted staffing sheets for the specified timeframe showed that while RN coverage was provided on weekdays, the daily postings did not document RN hours. Interviews with the Staffing Coordinator confirmed that RN hours were not counted or documented on the daily staffing sheets. Both the Director of Nursing and the Administrator stated their expectation that the daily staffing sheets should be accurate and reflect the staff who worked.
