The facility's Benefits Improvement Protection Act (BIPA) Nurse Staff Posting policy, revised in December 2019, instructed the charge nurse for the shift to fill in the total hours worked at the end of the shift, and the business office personnel were to verify and record the actual hours worked using payroll data. The facility's failure to calculate the total and actual hours worked by direct care staff on the Daily Staffing Sheet and/or on the Daily Staff Posting led to the deficiency.
