Interviews with facility staff revealed a lack of understanding and communication regarding the bed hold policy. The Business Office Manager, in their position for two years, was unaware of the notification process for hospital transfers and believed the policy was only addressed upon admission. The Administrator stated that clinicians were responsible for providing the bed hold form at the time of transfer, but the Unit Manager, who started in March 2023, had never been involved in this process and did not know who was responsible. This lack of clarity and communication contributed to the facility's failure to comply with the regulatory requirement to notify residents or their representatives of the bed hold policy during hospital transfers.
