The facility's policies and job descriptions for the Director of Dining Services and the Dietitian/Nutritional Services Manager indicated responsibilities for ensuring sanitation and safety standards. However, the lack of effective oversight and routine inspections led to deficiencies in the sanitation of the main kitchen, potentially causing foodborne illness to the residents. When asked about her background, the Culinary Manager stated she had two years of experience as a cook and one year of experience as a kitchen manager at a boarding school. The CEO later confirmed the Culinary Manager did not have the required qualifications and was in the process of getting certified.
