The penalty, as released by CMS, applies to the entire inspection this citation is part of, covering all citations and f-tags issued, not just this specific f-tag. For the complete original report, please refer to the 'Details' section.

Summary

The facility failed to maintain electrical equipment in compliance with NFPA 99 2012 Edition, Chapter 10.1.1, as evidenced by blocked access to electrical panels in two custodial rooms. On February 10, 2025, observations revealed that electrical panels in the custodial rooms of D-Wing and E-Wing were obstructed by miscellaneous housekeeping materials. This deficiency was confirmed during an interview with the Facility Administrator and the Maintenance Director on the same day.

Plan Of Correction

1. Maintenance will conduct a daily audit for 2 weeks of all custodial rooms to ensure nothing is stored in the allowable space for electric panels. 2. The Nursing Home Administrator/designee will educate housekeeping staff on proper storing of housekeeping carts. Education will be documented. 3. The Housekeeping Supervisor/designee will continue weekly audits for two months, then bi-weekly for two months. 4. Education will be provided when deficiencies are found. 5. Any concerns will be brought to the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committee for review.
