Facility Fails to Meet State-Required Nurse Aide Staffing Levels
Penalty
Summary
The facility failed to meet the state-required minimum staffing levels for nurse aides across multiple shifts over a three-week period. Specifically, during the daylight shift, the facility did not provide the required number of nurse aides on six occasions, with staffing levels falling short by up to 2.5 aides. The census during these shifts ranged from 114 to 120 residents, necessitating between 11.4 and 12 aides, but the facility provided fewer than required. Similarly, on two evening shifts, the facility did not meet the required staffing levels, with a shortfall of up to 1.7 aides, despite a census of 117 to 120 residents. Additionally, the facility failed to meet the required staffing levels on four midnight shifts, with a shortfall of up to 3.03 aides. The census during these shifts ranged from 113 to 119 residents, requiring between 7.53 and 7.93 aides, but the facility provided significantly fewer. The Nursing Home Administrator confirmed these deficiencies during an interview, acknowledging the failure to meet the state-required minimum staffing levels for nurse aides on the specified dates and shifts.
